    Description

A rare find of a very old full size violin in playable condition
Over three centuries old and very interesting violin, possibly by
Carlo Giuseppe Testore, or Ferdinando Alberti.
It has painted purfling on the back, some of it worn off, purfling on the top all worn off.
Has a grafted scroll, cheeked on both sides, bushed peg holes, back sound post patch, and numerous cleats inside the top and the back, plus grafted lower rib. All repairs were expertly executed, are very secure and holding well, and the instrument is in a stable, ready to play state.
Recently custom fitted with a high quality French Aubert bridge. A new set of Thomastik Dominant (medium) strings.
The sound is everything a soloist could ask for in a violin, a real pleasure to play.
