    Description

Authentic and rare handwritten notary deed, originating from Elbeuf,
a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region in northern France.
Dated in the upper left corner Quartier de Juillet (July Quarter) 1673. Note the upper left corner and NORMANDIE at the top are embossed onto the linen paper (see the backside. as well). In the upper left corner are also two stamps - a crown and a fleur de lis symbol. The thin document has aged over the decades, yet wear is minimal; no water stains or tears. Paper is an ecru colored linen with rough edges. The original black ink has slightly faded to a dark sepia. The caligraphy is indicative of the era, with swirls and full of pomp. One single page measuring 12.25 inches by ~ 8 inches. Would be lovely matted and framed for display on a wall.
Shipped insured within the USA only.
