This is
a set of seven antique George Wostenholm & Son "Superb"
straight razors in a seven-day box with slots, each marked with a day of the week.
The razors are not marked with days. They're all marked "Superb," on one side and they range in width from 5/8" - 11/16" (.60" - .69.")
.
They all have black celluloid scales.
Four of the razors appear to match and be part of the original set, with
round tips and clean blades that have
minor to no hone wear and no
surface rust or pitting
. Those four are marked, "Geo.
Wostenholm & Son, Sheffield Eng."
The three other razors have square tips. They have a little more hone wear and somewhat more wear to the blades (see pictures). Two of those razors are marked,
"Geo.
Wostenholm & Son, Sheffield, England," and they have jimping on the spine. The last razor is marked,
"Geo.
Wostenholm & Son, Original and True Pipe Razor, Sheffield England," and it looks like somebody tried to add jimping to the bottom of the tang with a file (see pictures)
.
The seven-day box is in nice condition. The clasp
and hinges
work well. The case's exterior
has some wear
(see pictures).
Insurance is required on all shipments and will be charged with a handling fee and included in the shipping quote. Handling fee reflects Ebay’s change in policy where they now charge the seller a 10% commission on the shipping costs. Overseas customs forms will be marked with the original price and insured at that value. No exceptions
