View/Notes: Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques is a street and garden in Lisbon.  It was built in honor of the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques.  It has little more than three hectares and consists of a small garden at the eastern top, extending afterwards on two large grassy trays divided by Avenida Almirante Reis; at the western top is the Instituto Superior Tecnico.  Separating the garden from the lawn stands is the Fonte Luminosa, one of the biggest monumental works in the Estado Novo.”
